The senior web developer will work closely with the design team to translate design to functional websites using best practices in accessibility, performance, and SEO. They will be responsible for creating innovative digital solutions for web projects, and will implement and manage all phases of a project’s life cycle from architecture to programming to testing.

The senior web developer will contribute to business development, working with leadership on all aspects of client contact, including new business, proposals and pitches, and client services. They will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective clients. They will spec, design, and deliver all web features and updates. More broadly, the senior web developer will work with leadership to shape internal and external digital strategies, with a focus on growth.

In this role, you will focus on

Delivering world-class digital experiences

  • Research, architect, develop, and test digital solutions
  • Expert knowledge of HTML and CSS
  • Intermediate knowledge of JavaScript
  • Basic understanding of module bundlers, package management tools and task runners (Webpack, NPM, Yarn)
  • Experience with WordPress theme development using PHP
  • Experience with Craft CMS development and Twig templating language
  • Experience with version control software such as Git
  • Experience with front-end JavaScript frameworks (React, Vue, Angular)

Supporting client projects and relationships

  • Work with leadership to meet company goals
  • Learn and adapt to new technologies in order to improve our process and better serve clients

We're looking for someone with

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience 
  • Minimum 5 years of web development, preferably at an agency or on a creative team
  • Knowledgeable about web development and source code management best practices
  • Stays abreast of the changing digital landscape and technologies
  • Ability and desire to manage multiple projects simultaneously on time and on budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Desire to learn, ask questions, and challenge conventional thinking

The N+S team is currently remote with tentative plans to return to the office in 2021, dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic. This position will begin remote, but will be expected to transition into the office with the rest of the team.
