The marketing strategist occupies a position at the firm that is both internal- and external-facing, meaning that they will work closely with the design team to develop and execute marketing and communication strategies for both the firm and the firm’s clients. They will be responsible for creating innovative campaigns that utilize best practices for areas such as content marketing, print and digital marketing, paid media, email, and SEO/SEM.

The marketing strategist will contribute to business development, working with leadership on all aspects of client contact, including new business, proposals and pitches, and client services. The marketing strategist will be responsible for developing and maintaining strong relationships with current and prospective clients. They will contribute to the market research, content, and delivery of various projects. More broadly, the marketing strategist will work with leadership to grow the firm’s market share.

In this role, you will focus on

Developing and executing marketing strategy for the firm

  • Research, develop, and execute a comprehensive strategy in order to increase awareness, engage with current and prospective clients, and drive new business
  • Writing and editing experience
  • Experience with web content development, SEO, and SEM
  • Experience with social media strategy and execution
  • Experience with email strategy, database management, and execution
  • Learn and adapt to new trends and technologies
  • Familiarity with WCAG and ADA compliance is preferred
  • Shaping N+S brand strategy

Supporting client projects and relationships

  • Work with leadership to meet company goals
  • Oversee marketing related activities for current clients, including but not limited to email campaigns, digital and print advertisements, and web content development
  • Manage new business requests and proposals with the Creative Director, drafting proposals, completing research, presenting proposals, and otherwise managing prospects
  • Provide marketing and communications leadership to a growing team
  • Creative problem solving and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently, manage projects, and set goals

We're looking for someone with

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Communications, English or related field, or equivalent experience
  • Minimum 3 years of marketing experience, preferably at an agency or on a creative team
  • Strong writing, editing, and proofreading skills
  • Knowledgeable about marketing best practices
  • Interest in business development, client relations, and/or project management; experience preferred
  • Interest in mission-driven work, arts and culture, and/or design preferred
  • Ability and desire to manage multiple projects simultaneously on time and on budget
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively across teams
  • Desire to learn, ask questions, and challenge conventional thinking

The N+S team is currently remote with tentative plans to return to the office in 2021, dependent on the COVID-19 pandemic. This position will begin remote, but will be expected to transition into the office with the rest of the team.
